It had been almost two
years since Melawend and I rolled passed a turn in the Niagara Escparment (near Grimsby,
Ontario, Canada) that reminded me of the recumbent lionesque form of Diamond Head.
It was a dream to reach the real place, what with so much time and so many obstacles to
overcome before reaching this Odyssey milestone.

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco
Another
special Odyssey moment.... After Melawend and I had finally reached the terra firma of
North America once again. We rolled north along the awesome Pacific shore of
California to San Francisco where we stayed for a few days. In this image, I take a
last longing look at one of America's great Gateways: The Golden Gate Bridge. After
taking this self-portrait, we rolled over the bridge one more time before heading east to
begin the home run.
