Douglas Kirkland For over 40 years, he has been one of the world's top celebrity photographers and more. He is truly a celebrity in his own right. One of my prized possessions is a letter Douglas wrote to me while he was in Halifax on a shoot during filming of the movie. I'm lucky to call Douglas and his wife Francoise friends. I met with Douglas a few while in Hollywood during the world journey. Over the years, Douglas has signed several items for me, including two photos shown on the same page - Elizabeth Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The one of Liz is from a session in Las Vegas in 1961 when he got his "passport photo" of her: "With it I crossed the border from obscurity, and my career began."
